Knotific is operated by CognoNative LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Knotific website and mobile applications, and how we use it.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Knotific, we may process account details you provide, reminder content you create, device and usage diagnostics, purchase/entitlement status from Apple or Google, and, on the Free plan, advertising identifiers and device identifiers used to serve ads (see “Advertising” below).

How we use information

We use this information to provide reminders and related features, improve reliability, enforce plan limits, and respond to support requests. Natural- language reminder parsing may be processed by our cloud AI providers solely to fulfill your request.

Advertising

The Free plan of the Knotific mobile app is supported by advertising. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service operated by Google. To deliver, measure, and limit the frequency of ads, Google and its partners may collect and process your device's advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS), other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about how you interact with ads. To show ads relevant to what you are using Knotific for, the app also sends a small set of topic keywords derived from the titles and categories of your active reminders (for example “groceries” or “workout”). Numbers, contact details and reminder notes are never included in these keywords. How Google uses this information is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Where consent is required (for example in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), we ask for your advertising choices through a consent form shown in the app before any ads are requested, and you can revisit those choices whenever the form is offered again. On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency prompt controls whether Google may use your IDFA for personalised ads. If you decline, you still see ads, but they are not personalised. You can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings.

Optional rewarded videos let you earn additional reminder slots on the Free plan. When you finish a rewarded video, Google notifies our servers with your Knotific account identifier and an anonymous transaction identifier so that the slot can be credited once. Paid plans (Individual, Family, and Family Unlimited) are ad-free and do not request ads.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers who process it on our behalf (for example hosting, email, and AI inference), with Google AdMob as described under “Advertising,” or when required by law.
